A glance at the work of Federico Buccellati

Buccellati are one of the best gold and silversmiths in Italy, and if you happen to be visiting Rome this summer, their store on via Condotti is worth going to. Not only do they have some beautiful handmade jewelry, they have some individual pieces for the home that are works of art in themselves. Their leaf designs are their signature pieces, and if you have a look at how intricate their work is, and how fluid the shape, you'll understand why they are so well known and worth the investment.

Here are some shots that I took of one of my sister's pieces. Look closely at the last one- it's their logo with the picture of an old lady (or is it a man?) engraved into the silver. You can click on the picture to zoom in.
