French Vogue Turns 90

For those living in Dubai waiting to get their hands on the much awaited 90th anniversary issue of French Vogue, the above picture is no doubt the cover photograph you will get to see . It will be 622 pages and in case you can't tell from the famous pout, has Lara Stone, baring all her.. ahem..  "assets" on the cover. The magazine will have 276 ads, as well as 104 pages of congratulatory messages from all the world's top designers. As a gift for their readers in France, they will get their issues in a bag which includes a portfolio of unbound oversize photographs from all nine decades.
I didn't realize Vogue magazines had been around that long, and the French issue isn't even their first! American Vogue was started in 1892 and the British Edition, in 1916!
A few months back, I'd written about a brilliant iPad app called Zinio in my iPad vs Kindle comparison.. just wanted to point out that the French Vogue IS one of the magazines available for download from there too. Just in case you want to go through a magazine in its entirety without, you know, a black marker having gotten to it first? As for checking out the cover, you could just click here to get a sneak peak.
