The World Cup madness!

World cup madness gripped a lot of the city's bars and pubs, and Felix bar downtown was no exception. My best friend and I went to have a relaxed, lazy dim sum brunch at Chinatown (more on that later), while her husband and his friends caught the game (and from the looks of it, many, many beers) at the bar. By the time we made our way back, the match was over and the Spain supporters celebrated their victory- with alcohol, and the Netherlands supporters drowned their sorrows- in alcohol. The heat in the city didn't help their situation, nor mine, as I was surrounded by throngs of sweaty, drunk people. Either way, now you know where to come to to catch any sporting events in the city. Felix is apparently a favourite with my guy friends here.
Like there wasn't enough noise on the streets already!

Some of the noisemakers... these guys just didn't stop

The Netherlands supporters obviously picked the bar next door

The guy from Fox News showed up to cover the action as well

There was an ambulance parked on the side street and I first thought they had come to pick up someone from the building it was parked outside of. Some time later I realized it had just stayed put there in case of accidents, and to treat drunk, passed out people. No kidding.
